A Whole Week Has Gone By
I can’t believe that a whole week has gone by since my last post.
I have been waiting for the ceiling guy to come and finish off my ceilings and I also managed to fit in a trip to a shopping mall near Florence, the Gigli!
The Gigli was adorned with all things sparkling and flashing to bring us the spirit of Christmas shopping! I actually was only going for a look but came back with a 15 tog duvet which has been absolutely lovely, as well as some socks and undies! I saw absolutely nothing inspiring for Christmas presents and felt disappointed in that sense.

I have, for quite a few years, been on an extremely tight budget. The reasons for which, perhaps I’ll share with you one day in the future, when I feel that I can. This last year and a bit has been easier and I feel as though a huge weight of anxiety has now been lifted from me. It is because of this that I don’t like to shop until I drop but like to have a small break for a coffee and a snack (if I’m feeling inclined). This times treet was an”Xmas Mocha” delicious with a slightly spices flavour and some yummy crean on top. You know, I didn’t take a photo but I did take a little video footage which will be going up onto my YouTube channel soon.
It was late when I arrived home and I had to be fresh and energetic the next day to clear space for the ceiling guy who was coming in a couple of days and I still had to clear our my and my son’s bedrooms of clothes and everything that I could so the ceiling man can work quickly and efficiently.
Tuesday after work saw me starting to get organised for the man. I started at 3 pm and stopped at 9 pm. Absolutely exhausted. My son started before lunch and finished with me he looked a little shocked and tired. Off to bed ready for an organised start.
Around 11.30, the time was moving on so I messaged the guy who said he’d told my friend he was coming on Friday not Wednesday, after all of our work. Still there’s no point in moaning, at least we’re organised for when he does come. I’m sleeping on my mattress on my floor but with my fab new duvet it’s no problem. There is an annoying chaos in the house but at least everything is going in the right direction.
This morning (Friday) I got up ready for action! It was dark when I opened my eyes, not because it was the crack of dawn, but because it was raining. My first thought was that he most probably wouldn’t come. I was right. I got a message about 10.20 to tell me that he wouldn’t be able to work! Ggggrrrrr. Very annoying but still, he said Monday or Tuesday next week and we do have a fine forecast for Monday so far, so I’m crossing everything as I just would really like to get everything moving towards Christmas and have my home organised. I’d also like to get cracking on some craft projects which is impossible to do just now as my craft room is crammed, floor to ceiling with the contents of my and my son’s bedrooms.
Tomorrow I’m off for my next Covid vaccine (number 5) so whilst I’d normally want a bit of an easy day as I’m still feeling tired after the organising of this past week, I’m going to take the opportunity to go to a diy store to take a look at paint for my room!
