The Rain Arrives
What a gloomy day!
When I open my eyes in the morning I know immediately whether or not it is raining or not by the light peeking out from behind my curtains. There was hardly any this morning and when it should have been fairly light it seemed to be the moment just before dawn because of the clouds and the rain which was on its way!
A normal kind of day followed then, in the afternoon we went to help clean a property for some people who rent out to guests. First though, we went to a local bakery which imports goodies such as Christmas pudding and mincemeat as well as certain types of chocolate that are popular in the UK around the festive time of the year. I have to confess that I much prefer Belgian and Swiss chocolate and plain, not milk! Still we bought one or two things and saw a few more culinary goodies which we’d like to buy before Christmas time.
Off to the property. The key didn’t work! It was pouring down and cold and the key just went round and round, both ways, without opening the door.
It didn’t take much to persuade myself and my daughters who were cleaning with me, to abandon the whole thing and go for a hot chocolate. The best in town, with cream on top. I normally avoid the cream to eat more healthily, but I was just in the mood today!

This hot chocolate has to be the best ever. It isn’t watery and runny, it’s dense and thick. We all had orange and cinamon flavour because we were starting to feel a bit Christmassy, it is mid November after all! After we’d finished our hot chocolate and basked in the after glow of chocolatey and creamy flavours, we went to shop in our local euro type shop, looking for tinsel and decorations for this year’s display. What was supposed to be a working afternoon had turned into a fun one!
Our evening was spent playing Lord of the Rings, Monopoly and guess what, I won! What luck!
