Earthquake
Two posts today!
We had an earthquake about an hour ago. This is an earthquake zone but normally we don’t think about it. I was, however, just thinking a couple of days ago, that we hadn’t had one for a while.
It wasn’t on a huge scale but it does bring home to you just how strong nature is. I was sitting in my chair and then the whole house just swung, like a wave or like being on a swing. Only for a few seconds but it was there.
One of our little dogs started running around a bit confused because, for those of you who haven’t experienced an earthquake, there is a rumble that accompanies it. Luckily no damage was done. Our old houses are stapled together and have survived many a tremor but as I said above, you realise just how powerful nature is, and there’s very little if anything we can do about it!
I’m hoping that we don’t have a spate of earthquakes as we did about then years ago when we had one every week. At one time, we were all evecuated and had to sleep in our cars. My nearest town looked like a war zone with people carrying matteresses and belongings to a safe place to sleep! It was January and two nights sleeping in a cold car were enough for me. We were all petrified expecting a huge quake which never, thankfully, came.
