Hang twinkling fairy lights around the room, drape them over shelves, and string them across windows and doorways. You can also add a touch of magic by placing battery operated LED candles on tables and countertops. They are so easy to use!

2. Christmas Tree Delight

No Christmas is complete without a beautifully adorned tree. Choose a size that fits your available space and decorate it with ornaments that reflect your festive theme. Think about using handmade decorations, such as miniature paintbrushes, colourful thread spools, as well as tiny scissors. Top it off with a craft-inspired star or angel. If you want to keep traditional, you can knit or crochet traditional decorations such as trees and starts too!

3. Creative Wreaths

Wreaths are a beautiful and classic symbol of the holiday season, and they can be a wonderful addition to your arts and craft studio. You can make your own wreaths using materials like ribbons, yarn, fabric scraps,  small craft supplies and collect ivy and branches from outside. Hang them on the walls, doors, or windows to add a cosy festive touch to your space.

4. Crafty Garland

Add a touch of the festive outdoors to your studio by creating your own garland. Use colourful paper, felt, or fabric to cut out shapes such as stars, snowflakes, or even gingerbread characters. String them together with twine or ribbon and hang them across windows, shelves, or along the walls. This DIY garland will add a fun and festive vibe to your creative space.

5. Cosy Textiles

Make your space feel extra cosy by incorporating soft home made textiles. Drape warm and fuzzy blankets over chairs and sofas, and add decorative cushions with festive designs. Think about using fabrics with holiday themes, such as snowflakes, reindeer, or holly. These textiles will not only add a cosy comfort but also enhance the overall festive cottagecore aesthetic to of your home.

6. DIY Advent Calendar

Count down the days until Christmas with a DIY advent calendar. Create small pockets or envelopes using craft paper and number them from 1 to 24. Fill each pocket with a small surprise, such as mini art supplies, inspirational quotes, or festive stickers. Hang the advent calendar on a wall or place it on a table, and enjoy the excitement of opening a new surprise each day.

7. Christmas Music Playlist

Set the mood in your home by creating a Christmas music playlist. You can choose a mix of classic carols, instrumental tracks, and modern Christmas songs to play softly in the background. I use one when I’m creating and, as I like to eat at my long table in my studio with my family over the Christmas period, I create an evocative and cosy ambience during our special mealtimes.
