A Surprisingly Productive Day

My normal start to the day with nothing particularly different. I made a lovely rustic bean, lentil and potato soup for lunch which went down very well with some tasty grainy bread.

I got a message from my architect friend who said that she had a sample of the paint colour I’ve been considering and could I meet. I couldn’t say no but I had a slightly frustrated feeling, because I’d wanted to get on with the insulating panels that I’ve already started to put up in my room. My saw ran out of charge yesterday, so I needed to really get going to make up for the shortfall.

We arranged to meet when she was ready from a previous appointment and I had to wait for her call. I decided to start my panelling early to make sure that at least I had done something on this project today.

I was making great progress on the panelling and I’d nearly finished my target number for today, when I got a message to meet. Crumbs I had to be there in 20 minutes and I hadn’t even washed my face and I needed to change out of my renovating clothes, which were full of polystyrene bits.

I did get there late (but not much). The paint sample is really lovely. I love the blue you see on old French houses and this colour is very close. It’ll look very bright in my home after the current drab aluminium windows but I want to give the whole wing of my house a new look, using new and old things to brighten and freshen the ambience. It’s where I love to craft and paint, so I’m hoping both for inspiration to get the place the way I want it to be, and for the finished place to give me relaxation and inspiration for my painting and crafting.
