I took delivery of two pairs of glasses today. Both ordered on line and both not only from different online stores but different countries. Neither of them either my native country or where I live.

I went for an eye test a couple of weeks ago. I have needed to go for about six months but I kept putting it off. The outcome was that my prescription was too strong. I had already guessed that though.

Specs are quite expensive here so last time I had an eye test, in my native country, I decided to buy a budget pair online. I scoured the internet and although I found an online seller here in Italy, I also traced a brand that they were selling to Slovenia and as I tend to do, I decided to go to the source.

The company made my specs and had them delivered in a week. I fell in love with them. They were stylish and strong and just what I wanted so I bought another pair which were equally as good.

This time I knew I’d go back to them but they didn’t really have any style that jumped out at me. I discovered that they will change the lenses in any glasses that need up dating so I decided to do that as well as find a style that would suit me and my lifestyle. I actually decided on pilot style frames. This is because I need to wear sunglasses here to drive. I often have to put contact lenses in just for a short journey so that I can wear sunglasses. I though that if I bought lenses that transition to dark in the sun then they would be more practical for my lifestyle and I wouldn’t keep having to faff with my lenses all of the time.

The glasses were ordered and they came in just under a week. I love them but they don’t seem as sturdy as my last ones so I’m a bit nervous. Still they look good and the lenses darken well.

While I was researching for discount online glasses retailers, I came across one in China. They make quite extrovert, some might say, outrageous frames and specs and I happened on a tamer pair which were on offer for $1. I chose some coatings including an anti blue light one. I thought I’d try the anti blue light coating as I always have sore eyes after spending time working on the computer. The whole thing, including delivery came to just over 26€. At that price if it worked out it was a great deal, if not, I wouldn’t be too heartbroken. Those glasses came today too! They took just over a week.

I adore the glasses. They feel sturdier than the other new frames and have sprung arms. For the first time in years, I haven’t had sore eyes after spending a good part of my day infront of the screen and yes, I’m going back for more. I may even try some extrovert ones in the future!
