Happy New Year

A very happy New Year to all! Let’s hope that 2023 brings peace, health and happiness to all.

It’s New Year’s day and tomorrow I start to rebuild and reform my life routines, style and other aspects of my being after losing my job, 5 days before Christmas.

I have deliberately taken this time to walk away from my computer, to which I’ve been tied for nearly 9 years. Every single day bar one, last year! I found it strange not to be logging on in the morning and I also found that I didn’t know what to do, when I could do anything I wanted to! I finally managed to get to grips with it just over a week later and tomorrow plans get made and action gets taken by me! The time has also meant that I could knit and get the bulk of a cardigan made. No grabbing a few minutes here and there. I can scale up my knitting and crafts now!

Our family New Year celebrations started with a lasagne lunch on New Year’s Eve. As we have animals I stay with them, with my daughter as the villagers let off very noisy fireworks at midnight, which shake the house. As it happened, our two dogs were still shaking over an hour after the New Year had arrived and so I’m glad that I was with them.

As with previous years, nothing much really happens for entertainment in this area. In years gone by, I have gone out seeking some fun filled New Year’s Evening activity, dressed up and ready but finding nothing! Instead, many spend an evening with family and friends which makes for a much more satisfying evening.
